Famous Hummus

We probably shouldn’t be posting this recipe for Chelsea’s dad’s famous hummus, but it’s just too good to keep secret!

hummus.jpg

2 14oz cans garbanzo beans

3 garlic cloves, chopped

4-5 heaping tablespoons tahini

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon Tamari

4 tablespoons lemon juice

Water to thin consistency

Olive oil, paprika, and parsley for garnish

Add all ingredients in a food processor and process until very smooth, adding water as necessary. Spoon into a serving bowl. Using a fork, start at the center and turn the bowl while raking a spiral into the hummus. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika and parsley.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with heated pita bread
  • Leftovers? Spread hummus onto a bagel or other bread, top with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and sprouts.
